This item represents the child Jesus, St. Joseph and the Virgin Mary. The figures are enclosed in a verina (glass dome) and has a polychromed solid gold leafed base. The vestments are made of gold thread superimposed on velvet. The hands and heads of the images are made of ivory and the potencias on the head of the child Jesus and other ornaments are made of gold. This is a devotional piece found in affluent homes at the turn of the century. Rich families of the 19th century have this tableau and a crucifix on top of an altar table.
